Stacy’s Celebrity Dirt

Joan Rivers is all the buzz this morning. She made a comment on The Today Show yesterday comparing her accommodations at her daughter Melissa’s home with what the three women held hostage in Cleveland by Ariel Castro went through. It was a short comment, but here’s what made it worse. The attorney’s for the three women asked Joan to apologize and she refused. I get it. She is a comedienne, and a rude one. She always has been. Always. If it were me, (I wouldn’t have said it, of course) I would apologize just because they asked. But that’s me, not Joan. What do you think? Should she apologize or is she right not to? I would love to hear what you think. It’s a topic we posted on Facebook.

People Magazine has named Lupita Nyongo their choice for most beautiful in their annual Most Beautiful list. She is a beauty and probably much more deserving than last year’s recipient: Gwyneth Paltrow. But that is just me. Others on the list include: Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lawrence, Julianna Margulies, Keri Russell, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Mindy Kaling, Pink, Amber Heard, Gabrielle Union, Molly Sims, Stacy Keibler and Kerry Washington. Anyone missing? Anyone who shouldn’t be? Let me know!

Alicia Silverstone’s new parenting book is causing a stir. You will remember that she was the mom that chewed up the food and spit it into her baby’s mouth like a mama bird. She took a lot of grief for that. Now she is throwing some interesting views out there. She is against diapers, tampons, and any non-plant based diet. She is also a big fan of the family bed. I have always found that concept interesting. I had a college friend who slept in a family bed with her parents, brother and sister until she graduated college. I remember finding it odd, but she seemed very well adjusted and close with her family. What do you think of the idea of a family bed? Let me know!!!

Today is National Take your Child to Work Day. My daughter did not come this year, she has “been there, done that.” And honestly, she isn’t really all that impressed with what mom does. When she joined us two years ago, she summed up my job this way: ‘It’s kind of boring. You just stand here and talk.” Yep…that pretty much sums up what I do, but boy is it fun! Here’s a picture from Olivia’s last visit with us, on picture day!

Speaking of my daughter, she, hubby and I will be participating in Komen Race for the Cure this year. We are participating with our Sunny 95 Team: For our Daughters. We are walking in hopes of finding a cure and living in a world where our daughter, sons, family members don’t have to deal with breast cancer. I hope you will join us and walk with us. Or run. Just be part of our team. Click the link for more information on how to register.
