Rescue Me Ohio Celebrates Four Years with Annual Birthday Party Fundraiser
The companion and shelter animal welfare organization will host its Fourth Birthday Party in the Columbus area to celebrate four years in operation and raise funds to support continued growth
Columbus – April 19, 2016 – Just four short years ago, Rescue Me Ohio was founded by a couple of pet lovers, looking to have an impact on the lives of shelter animals. Now officially registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Rescue Me Ohio has grown to a group of over 30 volunteers across Ohio, sharing the mission of advocating for companion and shelter animals and providing resources to the state’s rescue community. To celebrate this growth, and its success in support the community, the organization is hosting Rescue Me Ohio’s Fourth Birthday Party fundraiser!
The event, which is the organization’s biggest fundraiser of the year, will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016, in the Columbus area. With a Street Carnival theme, the event boasts several exciting options for games and entertainment, as well as some of Columbus’s favorite food trucks – Explorer’s Club and Burrito Bus.
Join Rescue Me Ohio from 1-5 p.m. at AMVETS Post 102 in Delaware, Ohio for an afternoon of food, fun and prizes! The event will feature:
- Live DJ
- Fortune Teller
- Popular carnival games
- Caricature artist
- Pie in the Face stand
- Cotton candy, popcorn and baked goods
- 50/50 Raffle
- Chinese raffle
- Awesome game prizes
Since its inception in 2012, Rescue Me Ohio has been working to unite and provide resources to companion animal organizations, while also educating and engaging the general public. All proceeds from the event will go towards Rescue Me Ohio’s operating costs and funding various programs and events that benefit shelter and rescue animals statewide. Flea Bites, an exciting new event to central Ohio that brings together an upscale flea market, food trucks and pet focused fun with the proceeds to benefit the Capital Area Humane Society.
Flea Bites will be held in the newly constructed Genoa Park, behind COSI, overlooking the Columbus skyline. The event will kick off at 11 am with a FleaBites Mutt Strut, as part of the fundraising efforts for Capital Area Humane Society.
Areas within Genoa park will be set up for select vendors, creating an unique Flea Market atmosphere. Local food trucks and area culinary schools will create opportunities to sample diverse, creative cuisine. Pet themed demonstrations and events will provide fun for the whole family. As the evening approaches, the “Big Dog Beer Garten” will provide musical entertainment and a selection of craft beers.
COSI will be presenting hands on activity stations for kids and their parents to engage and learn.

Granville Inn is partnering with Weathervane’s “Cabaret” series again this year!
Each summer the Weathervane Playhouse cast and crew perform two cabarets at the beautiful Granville Inn. This has become a special tradition, giving our patrons an opportunity to get to know our theatre company members, while dining on a deliciously prepared meal.
These events also allow our cast to shine. It is a chance to hear inspiring solos, harmonious duets, and soaring group numbers.
