COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Clippers and Mud Hens stretched the end of the regular season into the 12th inning Monday night before either team scored in what turned out to be a 2-1 win for the International League West champions.

The game was scoreless through 11 innings before Danny Worth lined a single to right field off reliever Gabriel Arias (7-4), scoring Wade Gaynor.

Taking the mound in the bottom of the inning, Kevin Whelan walked Russell Branyan with the bases loaded. Francisco Lindor, who reached first after a wild pitch on strike three, scored the tying run. Audy Ciriaco’s bases-loaded single to right brought James Ramsey around with the winning run.

The Clippers open a best-of-five playoff series with Durham at Huntington Park Wednesday night.
