COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Clippers plated two runs in the top of the 1st inning and made the lead stand up, beating the Mud Hens 3-1 in Toledo Wednesday night.

Jesus Aguilar brought Tim Fedroff home with a single to right fielder and Jose Ramirez scored on a liner to right by Carlos Moncrief.

Mark Lowe picked up his third save of the season by snagging a comebacker and throwing out Danny Worth with the tying run in scoring position in the bottom of the 9th.

Trevor Bauer (1-0) got the win, giving up five hits in six shutout innings of work.

The two teams are scheduled to play in Toledo again Thursday night before moving to Huntington Park for four games.
