COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Clippers enjoyed an offensive breakout as they beat Charlotte 8-6 at Huntington Park Tuesday night.

Columbus jumped all over Knight starter Erik Johnson in the first, sending 11 batters to the plate and scoring five runs. With the bases loaded on a walk, single and hit batter, Carlos Moncrief singled to right. With the bases still loaded, Tim Fedroff drew a walk and two-run singles by Audy Ciriaco and Jose Ramirez made the score 5-0.

Kyle Davies (2-2) picked up the win, giving up four runs on seven hits in 6-1/3 innings. Johnson (0-2) gave up eight runs on eight hits in four innings.

Game three will start at 10:35 a.m. Wednesday at Huntington Park.
