Man, 28, charged with assaulting 4-year-old

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A Northwest Side man is in jail, charged with critically injuring a four-year-old girl.

Police say Michael McDaniel, 28, was present when officers found the unresponsive girl in his apartment on Caleb Drive Wednesday evening.

Officers dispatched the apartment at 5314 Caleb Drive just before 6:00 p.m. found the girl unresponsive and suffering from visible injuries, detectives said.

She was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital where she was listed in critical condition.

McDaniel was charged with one count of felonious assault and taken to the Franklin County Jail, police said.
