OSU #8 seed in Big 10 women’s tourney

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Buckeyes are the No. 8 seed in the Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament and will play No. 9 Northwestern on Thursday.

Ohio State (15-17, 5-11) capped its regular season Sunday with a 74-57 loss to Minnesota.

The Buckeye-Wildcat matchup will tip off the tournament at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The winner will have to face top seed Penn State.

The Lady Lions and Michigan State were named the top two seeds after each earned shares of the Big Ten Championship. With its win over Michigan on Saturday, Penn State claimed its third straight conference championship, while the Spartans clinched a share of the crown with a win over Indiana Sunday.

Semifinal games will be played on Saturday, beginning at 3:30 p.m. and the championship game tips off at 1:00 p.m. Sunday.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday games will be broadcast by BTN, while ESPN will carry Sunday’s title game.
