Powell man injured in East Side crash

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sheriff’s office investigators say drugs or alcohol may have played a role in a one-vehicle accident that left a Powell man in critical condition Sunday night.

Thomas Bentz apparently lost control of his Chevrolet Suburban lost control on the ramp from eastbound I-670 to northbound I-270 in Mifflin Township on the East Side and went off the right side of the road at about 8:30 p.m., Sheriff Zach Scott said.

Bentz, 61, was the only occupant of the SUV and he was ejected from the vehicle, Scott sayds.

He was listed in critical condition.

Scott says the crash is still under investigation but alcohol or drugs are suspected as a possible cause.
