Arrest in January murder
Arrest in January murder

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A Columbus man will be in court today, accused of killing a man in a double shooting in a fast-food drive-thru in January.

Columbus SWAT officers arrested Adam McCarroll, 20, yesterday on a murder charge in connection with the shooting that left Kevin Hughes dead and David Hawkins injured on January 15.

Officers responding to a report of a shooting at the Wendy’s at 4035 Livingston Avenue found Hughes and Hawkins inside a car, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Hawkins was taken to the Grant Medical Center in critical condition but Hughes was pronounced dead at the scene, detectives said.

Hughes was the victim of the third homicide of 2013 in Columbus.
