Baby safe after mom surrenders

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A 25-year-old Newark woman is in custody and her baby is safe after the mother turned herself in to authorities late last night.

Arrest warrants had been filed for Amanda Jordan on charges of kidnapping and interfering with custody after she and her six-month-old daughter, Nicayla (above), disappeared Thursday, a day after Nicayla was ordered into the care of Licking County Children’s Services.

Amanda Jordan had just been released from prison.

Jordan’s sister and mother were arrested this past weekend on custody interference charges.
