Fire bounces Crew from Open Cup

CHICAGOI, Ill. – The Crew were eliminated in the fourth round of the U.S. Open Cup with a 2-1 loss to the Chicago Fire.

Columbus jumped out to a 1-0 lead, but Chicago put up two unanswered goals.

The match – originally scheduled for June 12 – was postponed due to severe weather

The Crew is now 20-13-2 all-time in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Tournament dating back to 1998.

Columbus returns to MLS play tomorrow hosting the Eastern Conference-leading Montreal Impact on Saturday, June 15 at Crew Stadium (7:30 p.m. ET/Univision Deportes Network, FOX Sports Ohio).
