COLUMBUS, Ohio – A Northeast Side family escaped without injury, but their home is a total loss after it caught fire early this morning, a Columbus fire official said.
Two adults were home when the fire broke out at 1799 Staffordshire Road just after 4:30 a.m., Division of Fire public information officer Battalion Chief Patrick Ferguson said.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined as investigators were forced to wait for the building to be deemed safe to enter, Ferguson said.
He estimated the damage at $150,000 to $160,000.
