Fire levies OK’ed

DELAWARE, Ohio – Two Delaware County communities will continue to provide residents with fire protection.

Voters overwhelmingly passed tax levies for the Orange and Liberty Township fire departments in yesterday’s special election.

Both issues will provide new money to maintain current services and prevent layoffs.

Orange Township’s 7.5-mill 3-year levy was approved by a 70 percent to 30 percent margin.

Liberty Township voters approved the 5.6-mill 5-year levy request 84 percent to 16 percent.
