COLUMBUS, Ohio – School officials in the Groveport-Madison district can hang onto a slim hope for their levy request, voted down on May 7.
The canvass of election results by the Franklin County Board of Elections show the measure picking up four votes, but not enough to reverse the outcome, board spokesman Ben Piscitelli said.
It does narrow the gap from 16 to 12, enough to require an automatic recount, Piscitelli said.
Recounts are required in Ohio when elections are decided by a half percent or less.
Piscitelli says the updated totals, including 23 provisional ballots and one additional absentee ballot, show the levy still failing 1,639 to 1, 627.
