COLUMBUS, Ohio – Red Cross volunteers from central Ohio head out this morning to help victims of the devastating tornadoes in Oklahoma.
Agency officials say the first wave of disaster relief workers could be followed by several more, depending on the need.

Medical officialsare revising the death toll down to 24 confirmed victims.
Spokesman Amy Elliott says some of the dead may have been double counted in the initial chaos, leading to earlier reports that many more fatalities had been confirmed.
More than 100 survivors have been pulled from the wreckage in the community of Moore.
The Red Cross has one shelter open in Moore and is working on others while also continuing to operate three shelters that opened following storms Sunday in the Oklahoma City area, according to a statement on the organization’s website.
Volunteers were out last night with food and supplies supporting first responders.
More than 25 emergency response vehicles are positioned to move at first light today and kitchen support trailers are being brought in to provide meals to those forced out of their homes.
