Home sales continue scorching pace

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The real estate market in central Ohio continued to heat up last month.

May had nearly one fifth more new listings, the most in one month since April 2010 and sales skyrocketed by 27 percent, according to the Columbus Board of Realtors.

The 2,756) sales in May accounted for the fifth highest sales month on record.

The median sales price of a home sold in central Ohio in May was $150,000, up 8.3 percent from a year ago.

The number of homes sold across Ohio rose 16.2 percent in May, as the market posted year-over-year gains in activity for the 23rd consecutive month, according to the Ohio Association of Realtors.
