Anze Kopitar, Jeff Carter and Slava Voynov all scored in the second period for Los Angeles, which ended a two-game slide.
Mike Richards added a goal in the third period while Jonathan Quick stopped 18 shots in the cage.
Derek MacKenzie and Derick Brassard each lit the lamp for Columbus (3-6-1), which has dropped three out of four.
Steve Mason turned away 27 shots for the Blue Jackets, who were outshot, 31-20.
Columbus hosts Calgary Thursday.
