Man, 74, charged with wife’s murder

COLUMBUS, Ohio – An elderly Northeast Side man is under arrest in the stabbing death of his wife during an incident in which he was also stabbed.

Leif Mortensen, 72, met officers at the door of his Kingpin Drive home yesterday afternoon with a stab wound, detectives said.

The officers found Mortensen’s found 74-year-old wife Margaret, stabbed to death, inside the home.

There’s no word from investigators on the circumstances of the stabbings.

Leif Mortensen was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital, where he was in stable condition and charged with murder.
