CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Midsummer Classic is heading to the Queen City in a few years.
The “Cincinnati Enquirer” reports that MLB commissioner Bud Selig will announce today that the 2015 All-Star Game will be awarded to the Reds.
Cincinnati last hosted the All-Star Game in 1998 at Riverfront Stadium, a game the American League won, 2-1.
The Reds now play on the banks of the Ohio River at Great American Ballpark.
The Washington Nationals and Miami Marlins were reportedly also bidding for the ’15 game.
The Mets’ Citi Field will host this year’s game while the Twins’ Target Field gets the honor in 2014.
