Skid comes to an end

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Blue Jackets snapped a three-game losing streak with a 2-1 win over Dallas last night at Nationwide Arena.

Vinny Prospal scored the deciding goal 1:22 into the third period for Columbus, which has gone winless for four straight games after winning their season opener at Nashville on Jan. 19.

“This was a step in the right direction. We need to win our home games. In a short season, winning your home games is crucial. If we can do that and at least split on the road then you’re in a great position at the end of the year to go for your goal,” defenseman Jack Johnson said.

Derek Dorsett scored the other goal for the Blue Jackets and Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 24 shots in the victory.

Columbus is right back at tonight playing the Minnesota Wild on the road (8:00 p.m./ FOX Sports Ohio HD).
