This past Saturday I did something I never in a million years thought I’d EVER do!
I didn’t worry about what I was wearing, I didn’t worry what others were thinking of me, I didn’t worry about my size and I didn’t let my fear of crowds stop me from DANCING ON STAGE at the George Clinton and PFunk show at the LC!
To say that it was a surreal moment is an understatement! Not only did I get to spend the entire evening backstage with the band and George, but I also got invited to join them onstage at the end of the night to dance to Atomic Dog! It was a huge treat! At 42 years old, I got my groove on without a care in the world!
For someone who has always been self-conscious about my size, this was a big accomplishment in the confidence department. Talking behind a microphone on the radio is perfect for me. But being on stage at any capacity has always been difficult, even in my line of work; I literally have to get over my fear over and over again, every time the next event comes along. So, Saturday night was a big deal!! And you know what? It was one of the most liberating moments of my life.
Do you have a fear you’d love to conquer?
