The New Albany Classic Invitational Grand Prix & Family Day celebrates its 20th anniversary on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the Wexner Home in New Albany, Ohio. This year’s Classic will be the most dynamic day yet with top name musical entertainment at the Concert at The Classic presented by Justice. We are so excited to announce that Nick Jonas will be returning and rocking this year’s concert stage! Enjoy a thrilling show jumping competition featuring the nation’s top grand prix riders and their mounts, an action packed family fair and opportunities to learn more about the work of The Center for Family Safety and Healing.

“When we developed The Classic 20 years ago, we really had no idea if we could create something that would raise enough funds to sustain the important work of The Center for Family Safety and Healing and draw the world’s top riders and their horses to New Albany to compete,” said Abigail Wexner, founder and host of The New Albany Classic Invitational Grand Prix & Family Day. “It makes me proud to realize that in this milestone year more than $30 million has been raised to date and The Classic was named the #1 Specialty Equestrian Event by the North American Riders Group for four consecutive years.”

Since 1998, over 5,000 volunteers have contributed just under 30,000 hours to support The Classic and its beneficiary. The Classic typically draws 18,000 guests to the all-day event, requiring over 300 volunteers to help host. Volunteer registration is currently open. All interested participants can learn more and sign up via The Classic’s Volunteer Form.

Collaborative Art Project by Sunny 95 and the Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD): Guests of all ages can help contribute a handprint to a one-of-a-kind tapestry that will be installed at The Center for Family Safety and Healing after The Classic for all to enjoy. Using foam cutouts supplied by Sunny 95 and CCAD, guests can create “sun prints” and bookmarks with sun-sensitive paper. The collected handprints will be used to create a large sun print tapestry, built by the hands of our community, to show support for healthy families in central Ohio.
