THE WORLD IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD AT THE 42nd ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL TASTE OF COLUMBUS

Local art and international cuisine combine to add more excitement to the 42nd annual INTERNATIONAL TASTE OF COLUMBUS. With a live auction of some of Ohio’s hottest attractions and beautiful artwork, this event is back to give guests an experience not to be forgotten.

THE INTERNATIONAL TASTE OF COLUMBUS is a culinary global immersion event sponsored by the Columbus International Program (CIP) on Sunday, August 14, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. held at Mozart’s Bakery & Piano Café, 4784 North High Street in Columbus.

This event brings together authentic foods and wines from more than 25 local restaurants in an all-you-can-eat buffet style gathering. During the popular live auction portion of the evening, guests will have the opportunity to bid on works of art as well as exciting packages, including tickets to Shadowbox and Ballet Met, as well as a five day, four night stay at the Hacienda Tres Rios Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico. In addition, the first 300 guests at The Taste will receive a voucher for $600 off of a trip to Cancun.

Some of the many confirmed contributing artists are Aaron Ackerman, Adrian Sibley, Carol Schar, Erica DiPaolo, Jen Bodine, Paul Richmond, Jen Etgen and Tom Hubbard. These talented individuals represent the disciplines of painting, printmaking and photography. This year’s TASTE vendors include such standouts as Tandoori Grill, Sunflower Cafe, Mozart’s Bakery & Piano Café, Banana Leaf, Diamonds Homemade Ice Cream, Blue Ginger, Secret Vessel, Barroluco, Spaghetti Warehouse, Hofbrauhaus, Wurst and Bier and many more.

“We want to remind people that Columbus is becoming a world-class food and art destination,” explained Kathy Moser, Director of Business Operations for CIP. “The Taste is literally a passport to the world in our own backyards,” Mark W. Poeppelman, Executive Director of CIP, explained. “The restaurants we’ve brought together represent every corner of the globe, presenting food selections crafted from generations of family recipes and incredible ingredients and spices,” Poeppelman continued.

The Columbus International Program is a non-profit organization with the mission of promoting international understanding through intercultural training and exchange. Since 1970, CIP has brought nearly 1,100 professionals from 112 countries to central Ohio to learn best business practices in a variety of business and social service sectors as well as form valuable partnerships with local businesses, government, and nonprofit agencies.

All inclusive tickets (including parking) are $55.00. Students with proper I.D. can enjoy a fantastic $25 ticket price. Advanced registration and ticket purchase is appreciated at www.cipcolumbus.org/international-taste-of-columbus. Tickets will also be available at the door.
