As part of the CSO’s Concerts for Kids series, conductor Albert-George Schram and the Columbus Symphony, with assistance from the McCord Middle School Drama Company, will perform “Peter and the Wolf,” a Prokofiev work specifically written to cultivate the musical interests of young children. This special CSO performance is musical storytelling at its best as each character is represented with a different instrument.
Children and parents are invited to come early and enjoy pre-concert activities that begin at 2pm in the Capitol Theatre lobby. Activities include:
- See and play instruments from Music & Arts Centers and The Loft Violin Shop
- Conduct with CSO principal cellist Luis Biava
- Harp “Petting Zoo” courtesy of the studio of CSO harpist Jude Mollenhauer
- Sing Along and Dance Along with Joanie Calem
- Instruments and musical fun with WeJoySing
- Crafts with the Columbus Museum of Art
- Musical tattoos
- Meet the CSO musicians
