The 17 pc. Rick Brunetto Big Band invites your family for our, MOTHER’S DAY afternoon Italian dinner buffet & orchestra show, featuring Nick Cosgrove, the Broadway star who portrayed Frankie Valli in the hit musical, “JERSEY BOYS,” on Broadway and also the 1st & 2nd national tours of the same musical. Mr. Cosgrove left Broadway moving to Columbus in early 2020 where he connected with The Brunetto Orchestra.
The music of Frankie Valli has lived on for over sixty years, and is embraced by the current generation through the Broadway musical and movie JERSEY BOYS. Savor the sounds from moms teen years, with SHERRY, BIG GIRLS DON’T CRY, WALK LIKE A MAN, WHO LOVES YOU, performed with full orchestrations lead by the phenomenal vocal talents of Mr. Cosgrove.

The Valley Dale Ballroom, debatably began in 1919, as a music and dance hall. Thirty years later VDB evolved into a mostly wedding venue. Under the tutelage of the ballroom’s current owners Rick Brunetto & Landa Masdea Brunetto the ballroom has presented a more theatrical and musical facet since they took possession two years ago, with featured music shows honoring Sinatra, Glenn Miller, and Temptations.
Brunetto & Brunetto are a unique married duo. Rick, a life-time musician/educator has taught at the college level as music chair at Denison University, also Kenyon college & Columbus State. Currently, Brunetto is Director of Bands and Computer Applications at St. Charles Preparatory High School in Columbus. Continuing in his early musical career as the percussionist with Columbus premier jazz group THE BOB ALLEN TRIO Brunetto left the trio to start his Big Band, he later began arranging charts for his group. His arranging landed him a co-authored music piece on Deana Martin’s,
Dean Martin’s daughter’s latest album. One of Rick’s musical highlights was being on the recording team of Ms. Martin’s album recorded at the legendary CAPITAL RECORDS.
Brunetto, heads up the performance music at Valley Dale Ballroom. Each Friday the physically distanced Brunetto 17 piece band plays for dancers of every age group from 7:30pm to 10:00pm at the ballroom.
Landa, a career interior designer is presently refurbishing the historic venue. Deciding there were no historic writings on her beloved Columbus landmark, The Valley Dale Ballroom. She set out to casually collect information which lead to her authoring the 2018 published History of The Valley Dale Ballroom. Her fascination started when Landa’s father, Bruno Masdea, was the VDB house band from 1974 till 1986.
Masdea Brunetto, is the VDB Marketing and Creative Director, planning the exciting public schedule of events now offered. She enjoys producing and creating fresh productions for their audiences. 50th Anniversary of The Beatles on Ed Sulllivan, Celebrating 50 years from Yasgar’s Farm ( an evolving “Woodstock-like” music event which happen’s every other year at VDB. Marvelous Miracle Motown is a future upcoming event.
