Anthony Torres was born and raised in Columbus and joined the Mifflin Township Fire Department in June 1999. In March 2012, Anthony was involved in a motorcycle accident which resulted in the amputation of a lower leg. Less than a year later, Anthony returned to full active duty with no restrictions and became the first amputee active duty line fire fighter in the State of Ohio. Anthony and his wife, Stephanie, have also organized the annual Torres Trail, which is a 5K run/walk to help benefitt local fire fighter families.
