When the corrupt practices of the former Village of New Rome started to affect local businesses and the community, Lincoln Village residents Jamie Mueller and Jeff Nourse decided to take action. Jamie was elected Mayor of New Rome and Jeff served as a trustee. With the two in office, they insisted on reform and, with assistance from the State of Ohio and Congress, a new state law was put in place and the village was legally dismantled.
