AKRON (AP) – LeBron James, his movie co-stars, the director and producer are expected to attend an invitation-only screening in Akron for the comedy “Trainwreck.”
The Akron Beacon Journal reports the screening is set for 7:00 p.m. Friday at an Akron movie theater complex.
The Cavaliers forward shot his scenes last summer for the film starring Amy Schumer and Bill Hader and directed by Judd Apatow. The movie opens July 17.
Apatow told the newspaper that James’ role is a fictionalized version of his life — a basketball star whose best friend is a sports physician played by Hader, who’s a former cast member on “Saturday Night Live.”
Apatow praised James’ performance, which has received some positive reviews.
