COLUMBUS – The 52nd annual Earth Day will be observed his weekend with events across the U.S. and in central Ohio.

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is hosting an Earth Day-themed weekend celebration from 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Admission is included with zoo admission or memberships.
Green Columbus is holding an Earth Day Columbus Festival at Genoa Park downtown from noon to 7:00 p.m. Saturday with food trucks and free music.
During the event, attendees can find out more about the Columbus Outdoor Trails Pass from Experience Columbus and the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission.
Created last fall, the GPS-enabled mobile Outdoor Trails Pass The digital pass is intended to inspire central Ohioans to hike, bike, jog or paddle through 22 different outdoor experiences in the area, including the Scioto Trail, the Olentangy Trail, the Columbus Distillery Trail, Columbus Coffee Trail and Short North Art Trail, among others.
After downloading the application, urban explorers can check in along the trails via the virtual passport to be entered in a monthly drawing for a $100 gift card to Columbus businesses and restaurants.
