1 dead, 1 injured in NE Side shooting

COLUMBUS – A 19-year-old man was killed and another man was injured in a shooting on the Northeast Side Monday night.

UPDATE 11/9/22 9:02 a.m.: Police have identified the deceased victim in this incident as Joshua Bean.

Columbus police officers were called to the 2000 block of Jermain Road on a report of a shooting at 9:10 p.m. found the two men suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, Sgt. James Marable of the Columbus police Homicide Unit said.

The 19-year-old man was taken by Columbus Division of Fire personnel to Ohio Health Grant Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 9:52 p.m., Marable said. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

This was the 124th homicide of the year in Columbus.

A 21-year-old man was treated for his injuries and released.

The incident is still under investigation.
