COLUMBUS – No more late night beer runs if Amazon gets the chance to deliver hooch to doorsteps in Columbus.
The online retailer’s Prime Now service submitted applications to the Ohio Division of Liquor Control last month for permits that would allow the carryout sale of beer, wine and low-proof mixed beverages, defined as those of 21 percent alcohol by volume or less by volume weekdays and Sundays, according to Department of Commerce spokesman Matt Mullins.
The two locations are in Cincinnati and at 3563 Interchange Rd. on the West Side of Columbus.
The applications were filed on Sept. 15 and Mullins says processing them should take 10 to 12 weeks.
