COLUMBUS – Two men are dead after a stabbing in the OSU campus area and a shooting on the Northeast Side Thursday night.
Police arrested David McDaniel, 22, on a charge of murder in the stabbing death of a man during an argument near the OSU campus, Homicide Unit detectives said.
A 30-year-old man, whose name had not been released by police early Friday, walked into the OSU Wexner Medical Center at approximately 8:44 p.m. with a stab wound and died just after 2:00 a.m., Homicide Unit detectives said.
Officers determined the stabbing happened while the victim was arguing with McDaniel in the area of 229 W. 9th Avenue.
Officers were called to the area of 857 Moon Road shortly after 11:00 p.m. on a report of a shooting found an injured Zanesville man inside an apartment suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, police said.

Ernest Chen, 52, was pronounced dead just before 11:30 p.m. at Riverside Methodist Hospital, the 76th homicide victim of 2019 in Columbus.
The investigation continues.
