Bus passenger attacks trooper

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a disruptive bus passenger has been charged with assault after striking a state trooper multiple times.

The driver of the bus passing through Morrow County on Interstate 71 Thursday called to report a disruptive passenger and Trooper Tressa Winans responded to the call, patrol spokesman Lt. Craig Cvetan told a Columbus television station

Cvetan identified the passenger as Antoinette Taylor, 26, of Warrensville Heights. She’s been charged with assault on a police officer.

Video taken by a passenger shows Taylor striking Winans at the front of the bus. Taylor then appeared to be on top of Winans, hitting her several more times after the two spilled out onto the berm.

Winans suffered minor injuries but has been treated and released, Cvetan said.
