COLUMBUS – Yandy Diaz knocked in the go-ahead run in the eighth and then scored the insurance as the Clippers beat the Red Sox, 3-1, to even a three-game series at two games apiece.
Diaz doubled on a line drive to left field off losing pitcher Fernando Rodriguez, Jr. (3-3), scoring Drew Maggi to make the score 2-1, then came in on a fielding error by third baseman Ivan De Jesus.
Tyler Olson (1-1) got the win for Columbus.
The two teams play the rubber match of the series Thursday at 11:05 a.m. at McCoy Stadium.
