TOLEDO – Daniel Johnson knocked in the winning run with a line-drive single to left in the seventh inning to give the Clippers a 6-5 win over the Toledo Mud Hens at Fifth Third Field Friday.
Columbus had tied the score when shortstop Ryan Kreidler’s throwing error allowed Connor Marabell to come home. It was one of two errors Toledo fielders co!mitted in the inning.
Johnson also hit a two-run homer in the first as the Clippers built a 4-1 lead before Toledo battled back and took a 5-4 lead when when Kreidler hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring Aderlin Rodriguez to cap a four-run rally in the sixth.
Anthony Gose struck out three hitters in two hitless innings to get his second save of the season.
