MOOSIC, Pa. – The Clippers beat Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, 6-3, Thursday night, earning a 3-3 split of the season series with the RailRiders.
The teams remained tied at 2-2 from the end of the first inning to the top of the seventh, when Columbus scored two runs, aided by a fielding error by second baseman Ruben Tejada and a wild pitch by losing pitcher J.P. Feyereisen (0-1), then plated two runs in the top of the ninth.
Ryan Merritt (5-5) got the win for Columbus, allowing three runs on six hits while striking out seven in seven innings of work.
The Clippers head to Syracuse for a three-game series before returning to Huntington Park Monday for a five-game home stand against Louisville and Indianapolis.
