Clippers 8, Saints 6

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Gabriel Arias and Oscar Mercado combined for five runs in the sixth inning and the Clippers held on to beat the St. Paul Saints Thursday at CHS Field.

Mercado hit a three-run homer and Arias added a two-run shot as the Clippers turned a 3-2 deficit into a 5-2 advantage.

Trenton Brooks put Columbus on the board with a two-run home run in the second.

St. Paul tied the score for St. Paul in the seventh with a two-run homer by Matt Wallner but Chris Williams scored tge go-ahead run in the eighth on a wild pitch by Saints pitcher Kevin Kelly.
