Clippers 9, Mud Hens 4

TOLEDO – The Clippers held off the Mud Hens and went on to beat Toledo 9-4 at Fifth Third Field Saturday.

After Columbus scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning to take a 5-1 lead, Jamie Westbrook’s three-run homer in the bottom of the inning cut the lead to a run.

The Clippers responded with four runs in the the seventh to put the gane out of reach while Aaron Pinto (3-2) and Jake Jewell combined to keep the Mud Hens off the board in the final three innings.

Will Benson hit a two-run homer for Columbus and Bobby Bradley and Tyler Freeman added solo shots.
