Driver’s license testing resumes Friday

COLUMBUS – Wednesday is the day zoos, theaters, playgrounds and other indoor and outdoor facilities reopen following an extended shutdown because of the coronavirus.

Ohio’s theme parks announce reopening plans

The state reported 413 news confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, bringing the total to 39,575 with 2,457 total deaths, 36 more than Tuesday.

The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles announced that driver’s license exams will resume Friday by appointment only at several offices around the state, including those at 990 Morse Road in Columbus and at 873 E. Main Street in Newark.

Additional exam stations will resume testing on June 16, also by appointment.

The BMV is making efforts to contact those individuals who may have had their test canceled during COVID19 to reschedule on a priority basis. Once those tests are rescheduled, then appointments will be available for all other customers. Appointments will be able to be made online.

Customers should call to ensure their location is open.

Driver’s customer’s licenses, state identification cards, vehicle registrations and temporary permits that expired after March 9, when Gov. Mike DeWine and Dr. Amy Acton, director of the state Department of Health, declared a state of emergency, have been automatically extended until 90 days after the state of emergency ends or Dec. 1, whichever comes first.
