COLUMBUS, Ohio – If a bill that won approval in the Ohio House Wednesday becomes law, that Star-Spangled Banner will yet wave o’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
No matter what your landlord or neighbors want.
The Ohio House of Representatives voted unanimously Wednesday in favor of a bill, based on federal law, that prohibit landlords from restricting the display of American flags, service flags or the National League of Families POW/MIA flag, which is flown as a symbol of respect for POW/MIAs.

The measure, sponsored by Representatives Anne Gonzales (R-Westerville), pictured right, and Tim Ginter (R-Salem), stemmed from an incident where an 86-year-old central Ohio woman was told she could not display an American flag in the home she was renting, the two lawmakers said.
The bill, which now heads to the Senate, also applies to service banners, the Blue Star Flag flown by the families of deployed service members, and Gold Star Flags, which are displayed by the families of fallen service members.
Sunday is Flag Day, which commemorates the adoption of the red-white-and-blue flag of the United States.
