Jenner, Calvert return; Anisimov, Goloubef out

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The injury-plagued and slumping Blue Jackets seem to take two steps back for every step forward.

The team Monday activated left wing Boone Jenner off injured reserve but also placed center Artem Anisimov and defenseman Cody Goloubef on IR, general manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced.

The team also activated left wing Matt Calvert off IR Tuesday. He had missed four games due to an upper body injury.

Jenner (above), who scored 16 goals in in 72 games as a rookie in 2013-14, suffered a broken hand in practice on Sept. 27. He will play his first game of the season Tuesday against the Carolina Hurricanes at Nationwide Arena (7:00 p.m./FOX Sports Ohio).

The CBJ Will be trying to snap a five-game losing streak.

Anisimov was placed on IR retroactive to Oct. 28 and is day-to-day after suffering an upper body injury against Ottawa.

Goloubef, who has seen action in three games this season, injured a knee at New Jersey Saturday and is expected to be sidelined six weeks.

The team recalled defenseman Frederic St. Denis from the American Hockey League’s Springfield Falcons.
