COLUMBUS – Columbus police have not named any suspects in a deadly shooting at a Sheetz convenience store on the Southeast Side early Friday morning.
Jared Porter was found inside the store at 3999 S. Hamilton Road just after 4:20 a.m. by officers responding to a reported shooting, Sgt. David Shimberg of the Columbus police Homicide Unit said.
Porter, 23. was taken to an area hospital in critical condition where he died at 5:41 a.m. despite receiving life-saving medical attention.
Investigators are still attempting to identify a suspect and the circumstances that led to this incident, Shimberg said.
