Missing Columbus man found

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A Columbus man missing in southern Ohio since Tuesday has been found, Ross County Sheriff George Lavender says.

Waverly police found Jeffrey Brown, 50, in Pike County and Lavender says he is being reunited with his family.

Brown has a history of mental illness and had recently stopped taking his prescribed medication, Lavender says.

Brown was last seen by his sister early Tuesday morning at their North Side home, Ross County Sheriff

She had tracked his cell phone to the bridge on U.S. 23 north of the Main Street exit in Chillicothe and his bicycle and other personal items were found along the riverbank, Lavender says.

Deputies, Chillicothe police officers, Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers and local volunteer firefighters searched the river and the wooded areas along the river, Lavender says.

Lavender is asking who has any contact with Brown to contact a law enforcement agency.
