COLUMBUS – The Capital City half Marathon is more than a sum of its parts. It is actually four races in one event, resulting in the crowning of one national champion.
The 2016 OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon and USA Track & Field Half Marathon Championships (Saturday, April 30) features the USATF Half Marathon Championships, the Capital City Half Marathon, the Patrón Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles) and the Commit To Be Fit 5K (3.1 miles).
The events will draw an estimated 14,000 runners and walkers to the streets of downtown and the North Side.
Start: Town and Front streets. Finish: High and Town streets. USATF Half Marathon Championships begin at 7:55 a.m. and the OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon begins at 8:00 a.m.

More than 100 elite athletes lead off the events in the 13.1-mile USATF Half Marathon Championships, including two-time Olympian Desi Linden of Rochester Hills, Mich.; five-time Olympian Abdi Abdiraham of Tucson, Ariz.; Shadrack Biwott of Mammoth Lakes, Calif.; defending Cap City champion Nick Arciniaga of Flagstaff, Ariz., and 2014 Capital City Half Marathon champion Craig Leon of Eugene, Ore.
Total prize and incentive money for the championships exceeds $130,000 with the men’s and women’s winners receiving $12,100 each.
USA Track & Field awarded the 2016 and 2017 Men’s & Women’s USATF Half Marathon Championships to Columbus in February 2015.
