COLUMBUS – A pregnant teenager and her baby survived an accidental shooting in a South Linden home Wednesday morning.

Columbus police say the 16-year-old girl, who was seven months pregnant was shot in the abdomen at the home on Grasmere Avenue just before 11:30 a.m.
The girl was taken to OSU Wexner Medical Center where the baby was delivered. Columbus Homicide Unit Sgt. Dave Sicilian says the girl and the newborn were listed in critical condition but expected to survive.
Investigators determined that Christopher Blount, 18, had accidentally shot the girl inside the home. Sicilian says he has been charged with “weapons under disability,” a charge filed against a person who is not allowed to possess a firearm.
