COLUMBUS – A 14-year-old boy is dead, the victim of a drive-by shooting on the East Side Monday afternoon.

Columbus police say a dark-colored vehicle drove past a home in the 700 block of Weyant Avenue around 5:00 p.m. and fired several shots, killing Armani Anderson, 14, and injuring 21-year-old Devon Wyrick.
Officers responding to the reported shooting found Anderson, who was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later, Homicide Unit detectives said.
Wyrick was listed in stable condition
This is the 31st homicide of 2016 in Columbus.
A man found shot inside a vehicle at a Southeast Side intersection late Monday night was the second homicide victim of the day and the 32nd of the year, police said.
Officers responding to the intersection of Gault Street and Lilley Avenue at approximately 10:32 p.m. on the report of an accident found the driver, Sydney Javon Berry, suffering from a gunshot wound, Homicide Unit detectives said.
Berry, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Witnesses told investigators a gunman in a Chevrolet Tahoe fired into the vehicle, striking Berry, and drove off in an unknown direction.
