COLUMBUS – A 16-year-old shot to death inside a West Side apartment building Thursday night is the 32nd homicide of the year in Columbus.
UPDATE 4/25/20 9:16 a.m.: Police have released the identity of the victim of this homicide
Officers called to the Wedgewood Village Apartment in the 800 block of Wedgewood Drive at 8:30 p.m. on report of shots being fired found Hussein Osman Abdi inside one of the buildings suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, said Sgt. James Marable of the Homicide Unit.
Franklin Township paramedics pronounced the youth dead at 8:48 p.m.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation.
