COLUMBUS – A South Side man is charged with murder in the death of a man who died in a shooting Thursday night that also sent a 19-year-old man to the hospital.

Krystopher Payne, 20, was charged with the slaying of the man, who was found outside a home in the 1700 block of S. 8th Street, not far from Payne’s listed residence, at 9:32 p.m., Det. David Phillips of the Homicide Unit said.
The man, who was not positively identified by police, was found inside the home and Yashuwa Watson was lying on the sidewalk. Phillips says both men had been shot.
The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene by Columbus paramedics and Watson was taken to a nearby hospital where he was listed in critical condition but expected to survive.
This was the 27th homicide of 2-19 in Columbus.
Police say the investigation is continuing as detectives search for a motive behind the incident.
