COLUMBUS – One man was killed and another injured when the two got into a gunfight during a large party outside a home in Linden late Wednesday night.

UPDATE 9/7/18 6:28 a.m.: This update includes the name of the deceased victim
Investigators say Willie McKnight was armed when he confronted Paul Rispress during a party attended by about 100 people in the rear of a home at 1384 E. 26th Avenue just before 11:44 p.m., Homicide Unit Sgt. Jeff Strayer said.
Rispress was also armed and the two exchanged shots, both striking their targets, Strayer said.
Rispress, 51, was shot in the face and taken to Grant Medical Center where Strayer says he is expected to survive his wounds.
Officers found McKnight, 53, lying outside the rear of the home, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound, and Strayer says he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Strayer says no one at the party has come forward to tell police more about what happened but the investigation continues.
This is the 74th homicide of the year in Columbus.
