COLUMBUS – A North Linden man was found dead by his girlfriend Sunday morning, the latest victim of multiple shooting incidents over the weekend in Columbus which left two other people injured.
Keith Bosley’s girlfriend went to check on him in his home in the 1800 block of Robert Street at 10:30 a.m., about four hours after she texted him and got no response and found the 56-ytear-old man dead from a gunshot wound, Columbus Homicide Unit supervisor Sgt. Eric Pilya.
The investigation continues.
Bosley was the 77th homicide victim of the year in Columbus.
A 39-year-old man was critical injured when his vehicle was caught in a crossfire while he was driving on the East Side Friday afternoon.
Thomas Brubacher was driving through the intersection of E 5th Avenue and St. Clair Avenue at 12:35 p.m. when Assault Unit Det. Steven Kaethow says he was struck in the face by gunfire which a witness says appeared to have come from two motor vehicles that were traveling north bound on St. Clair Avenue as the occupants fired at each other.
Brubacher was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
Two other victims, Albert and Lola Drafton, say they were waiting for the red light at the intersection when their vehicle was also struck by gunfire, police said
A woman was shot when a fight inside a South Side rec center erupted in gunfire a few hours later.
A fight inside the Barack Recreation Center, 580 E. Woodrow Avenue, spilled outside to the parking lot at about 4:15 p.m. where an Assault Unit detectives say unknown individual brandished a firearm and began shooting.
Levell Gaston, 37, produced a weapon of his own and returned fire.
Police say Angel Plummer, 23, was struck once in the back during the gunfight and taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
The unknown suspect fled the scene after the incident but Gaston was identified.
This incident is also still under investigation.
